Even though this is Greece and it is usually hot in the summer, the location of the house so close to the beach guarantees almost always a breeze. While the rest of the country is boiling hot, the temperatures here are very pleasant. The wind however can be sometimes a bit too much if you want to spend extended time periods sitting in one place in the evening. It is recommended to have a jacket for the evenings at hand.
Mosquito repellant is a must in the evenings with little or no wind. When staying on the terrace use the coils otherwise use the products recommended for the skin.
To avoid sunburns make sure that you apply sunscreen at the appropriate times.
doctor is located at Neos Marmaras on the main road. There are two pharmacies in town. They are both to be found around the vicinity of the restaurant “Roma Pizza”. The nearest health center (clinic) is in Nikiti, 13km away. The nearest hospital is in Polygyros.

Quiet times are from 1400 to 1700. Please avoid all noise during that time.
Banks are to be found in Neos Marmaras or in Nikiti. Bank tellers for automatic cash withdrawal can be found there as well as at other places such as in front of super markets. Most stores accept credit cards, do prefer cash however. Restaurants accept cash only.
There is a bus connection from Thessaloniki to Neos Marmaras. In Thessaloniki the bus stop is called “KTEL Halkidikis” and is on Egnatias and Botsari street. The bus driver will let people out at other locations besides the bus stop. As the house is only a few meters away from the street to Neos Marmaras, the bus driver can be asked to stop almost right at the house. The location of the bus stop in Neos Marmaras is across from the restaurant “Roma Pizza”. There are busses to Thessaloniki according to the following schedule: Mo-Sa 0630, 0815, 1030, 1230, 1500, 1800, 1930 There are busses going also to Moudania, Polygyros, Sarti, and Sykia. The path paralleling the beach is nice for jogging or walking and goes for 4,5 kilometers and ends at the Hotel Athena Palace, where it meets the road again.
