Fifteen minutes walk from the house in the direction of Nikiti is the Lagomandra Taverna. It is to be reached either by way of the beach or by the trail paralleling the road. The trail gets wider and eventually turns into a street. This street is paralleling the highway along the beach. This place has a kitchen right there at the beach. It looks clean and seems romantic in the evening. The Lagomandra Hotel has several restaurants and pool bars that look quite interesting.
Five minutes walk further along the road is the Pirate Tavern. It has a great view of the bay and friendly personnel. It has an open kitchen and is a very popular place for the Greeks to eat. The menu is small, but the food is good. The kitchen as well as the restaurant looks spotless.
When going in the evening, make sure that you have a flashlight with you, as the road is not lit. The flashlight is in the basket in the fireplace.
Neos Marmaras is only a few kilometers away and offers anything in entertainment. There are cafes, bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors, fast food places, discos, play grounds, etc.
Porto Karras is three kilometers past Neos Marmaras. It is a big hotel complex and has several restaurants, bars, and a casino. An adult (over 23 years, and with an identification card or passport) can get an entry into the casino for 15 Euro. With this ticket he can get meal coupons for up to four people. Those meal coupons are good for the excellent hotel buffet in the restaurant next to the casino.
